Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship
For the fifteenth year, proceeds of the 2007 Entrepreneur Invitational will support the Lamone Entrepreneur Scholars Program of the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland.
The Dingman Center was founded in 1986 by Rudolph P. Lamone, the former Dean of the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Since its inception as one of the earliest entrepreneurship centers in the country, the top-rated Dingman Center has served as a national catalyst for entrepreneurship and has sought to broaden the educational opportunities for students. Today, the Robert H. Smith School of Business features an undergraduate citation program and an entrepreneurship concentration in the MBA program, both of which are nationally ranked as top educational programs for student entrepreneurs. Each year, the Dingman Center selects a number of qualified students as Lamone Entrepreneur Scholars, who receive tuition remission, stipends, a graduate assistantship at the Dingman Center, and advice on planning and implementing their new business ideas.
As an incubator of entrepreneurial opportunity, the Dingman Center has a diverse and dynamic portfolio that includes:
